Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Royal Caulking & Paint collects when you request a quote or use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can access, correct or withdraw it. It is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1Who we are
Royal Caulking & Paint, registered as Royal Caulking And Paint ("Royal Caulking", "we", "us"), is an exterior window resealing and weatherproofing contractor serving the Greater Toronto Area and the Niagara region. We have been in business since 2023, are a BBB Accredited Business, and operate this website at www.royalcaulking.com.
We are a small, owner-operated business. The person responsible for privacy questions and requests is reachable (647) 524-6180.
This policy covers information collected through this website and through the quote requests, phone calls, emails and job records that follow from it. It does not cover other companies' websites that we may link to.
2What information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit the contact form, use the photo estimate, or call us, we collect only what we need to prepare an estimate and do the work:
- Your name — so we know who we're quoting and who to ask for on site.
- Phone number and/or email address — so we can reply with a quote and schedule.
- Your city, neighbourhood or address — so we can confirm you're in our service area, route the crew, and price access.
- Details about your property — approximate number of window and door openings, the approximate age of the home, and which service you're asking about.
- Anything you type into a message field, and any photos you choose to attach.
We do not ask for, and do not want, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, or health information through this website. Please don't send them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site and the services behind it record some technical information when you visit:
- Server and security logs — IP address, browser type and version, the pages requested, and the date and time. These are generated by our hosting and security provider and are used to keep the site online and to block abuse.
- Nothing else. At the time of writing this site runs no analytics or advertising tracking — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no tracking cookies. If we add any measurement tool later, this policy will be updated first and section 7 will say exactly what it collects.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not buy contact lists.
3Why we collect it
PIPEDA requires that we identify our purposes before or at the time we collect your information. Ours are:
- To prepare and send you an estimate, including reviewing any photos you send.
- To contact you about that estimate, to arrange a site visit, and to schedule the work.
- To perform and warranty the work — we keep a job record of what was sealed, which product and lot was used, and the date, so that a warranty claim can be checked against the actual job.
- To invoice and keep the business records Canadian tax law requires us to keep.
- To follow up about seasonal seal inspections or work we've previously discussed, where you have agreed to hear from us.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it and measure whether our advertising is working.
If we ever want to use your information for a purpose that isn't on this list, we will ask you first.
4Consent, and how to withdraw it
When you fill out a form on this site and submit it, you are consenting to us using the information in it to respond to you and to quote your job. That consent is what the form is for — we take it as given for the quote itself.
You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits, by calling (647) 524-6180. If you withdraw consent before we've done any work, we'll delete your quote record. If we've already completed a job for you, we have to keep the invoice and the warranty record — see section 8.
If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will. Marketing or follow-up messages always include a way to opt out, and opting out of those does not affect anything to do with an active job or an existing warranty.
5Photos you send us
You can send us photos from the "Send photos" tab of the instant estimate on any page, or attach them to the contact form. Either way they are handled the same:
- They are emailed to us (through our form service, FormSubmit) together with the name and contact details you enter, and are shrunk on your device first so the message stays small.
- They are used to count your openings, assess the condition of your seals and prepare a quote, and are kept with your quote record. A person looks at them — no automated decision is made from them.
- Your cart stays in your browser. The openings and extras you add on this site are stored only on your own device (browser storage) until you send them to us with a booking or a quote request. We cannot see a cart you have not sent.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. The booking deposit ($250 plus HST) and the $50 + HST in-person quote fee are paid on Stripe's secure checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us or to this website; we receive a confirmation of the payment and the booking reference you were given.
- We will not publish a photo of your property — before, after, or otherwise — without asking you first and getting a clear yes. Consenting to a quote is not consenting to marketing use.
A practical note: photos taken on a phone can carry hidden location data. If that concerns you, most phones let you strip location from a photo before sharing it, or you can simply describe the openings instead — we can work from a description.
8How long we keep it
- Quote requests that don't become jobs — kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Reseal work often gets deferred a season or two, and we'd rather have your original notes when you come back than start over.
- Completed job records (what we sealed, which product, the date, and the photos of the work) — kept for the life of the 10-year workmanship warranty plus one year, because that record is what lets us honour a warranty claim.
- Invoices and financial records — kept for a minimum of six years, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.
When the period ends, records are securely deleted or destroyed.
9How we protect it
We apply safeguards appropriate to how sensitive the information is — which, for a window quote, is modest, but it's still yours:
- The whole site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into a form is encrypted in transit.
- Our form endpoint is tokenized, which means our inbox address isn't published in the page source where it can be scraped.
- Access to quote requests and job records is limited to the people who need it to quote, schedule or perform the work.
- Accounts that hold this information are protected with strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication where the provider offers it.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as PIPEDA requires.
10Your rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to:
- Know whether we hold information about you, and what it is.
- Access it — ask for a copy of it.
- Correct it if it's wrong or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent and ask us to stop using it, subject to legal and contractual limits.
- Ask us to delete it, where we're not required to keep it.
- Complain about how we've handled it.
To exercise any of these, call (647) 524-6180. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first, so we don't hand your information to someone else. There's no charge for a reasonable request.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada — priv.gc.ca, or 1-800-282-1376. We'd rather you came to us first so we can fix it, but the route is there either way.
11Children
This website is meant for homeowners and property managers. We don't direct it at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change — for example if we add a new tool that handles your information. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change is significant, we'll say so prominently on the site rather than quietly editing the page.

Instant estimate
Count your openings. See your price.
Every window and every exterior door is one opening, priced by its size. Count them yourself for an instant number, add any extras, and book with a $250 deposit (plus HST) — or send us photos of the house and we'll count them and reply with a firm quote.
While we are there
- Stand back far enough to get a whole wall in each shot.
- We count the openings ourselves and reply with a firm number — usually within one business day.
- Your photos stay with your quote request and are never published. Privacy.
Prices may change on sight of the job; if we change the price, your deposit is fully refundable. See the terms. Lift or scaffold work is quoted separately. A $250 deposit (plus HST, $282.50) books your date and comes off the invoice.
