Dryer and bathroom exhausts
The flange-to-wall joint behind the hood, plus the hood itself.
Service · GTA & Niagara
Dryer vents, bathroom exhausts, range hoods, hose bibs, gas lines, AC line sets, hydro and cable entries — every pipe through the wall is a hole that was sealed once, decades ago. We reseal all of them in one pass for one flat price, and replace cracked exhaust covers while we are there.
What goes through the wall
A typical house has eight to fifteen penetrations and most of them were sealed exactly once, on the day they were installed. These are the ones we reseal — all of them, for one price.
The flange-to-wall joint behind the hood, plus the hood itself.
High-temperature terminations, sealed with the right grade.
Small penetrations that take a surprising amount of water on the weather side.
The bundle of lines into the wall, usually stuffed with foam and nothing else.
Service entries are rarely sealed properly, and they are often the draft you can feel.
Sealed at the wall without blocking the airflow the appliance needs.

Vent covers
Plastic covers go brittle in the sun. After ten or fifteen winters the louvres crack, the flapper sticks open or the whole hood is simply gone — and now the duct is open to the weather, to insects and to birds.
A working damper matters. An exhaust that cannot close lets cold air straight in and lets warm, wet air condense and freeze in the duct behind it.
We carry standard sizes and swap the cover while we are sealing the penetration. If a duct behind it is damaged, that is HVAC work and we tell you so.
Pricing
Tick the reseal, count the covers that need replacing, and add it to your cart. If your window job has 16 or more openings the reseal is on us.
Every job carries a minimum charge — before HST, a little more when the job is several small items — and books with a deposit plus HST.
Straight answers
Anything that passes through the wall: dryer and bathroom exhausts, range hood vents, hose bibs, gas lines, air-conditioner line sets, the hydro mast and cable entries, and the fresh-air intake for the furnace. If it goes through the wall, it is in the count — and it is one flat price for all of them.
Because we are already there with everything set up. On a house with sixteen or more openings the penetrations are a few extra joints on walls we are already working on, so we include them rather than bill for them.
The exterior cover — the hood, louvre or flapper assembly on the outside of the wall. Replacing the duct behind it is HVAC work; if a duct is the problem we will say so.
Yes — an open flapper is a hole in the wall for cold air, insects and, in winter, condensation that freezes inside the duct. A new cover with a working damper is one of the cheapest fixes on the house.
Instant estimate
Every window and every exterior door is one opening, priced by its size. Count them yourself for an instant number, add any extras, and book with a $250 deposit (plus HST) — or send us photos of the house and we'll count them and reply with a firm quote.
While we are there
Prices may change on sight of the job; if we change the price, your deposit is fully refundable. See the terms. Lift or scaffold work is quoted separately. A $250 deposit (plus HST, $282.50) books your date and comes off the invoice.
