Tub-to-tile
The long joint along the top of the tub — the one that goes black first.
Service · GTA & Niagara
The same discipline we bring to the outside of a house: the old silicone stripped out completely, the joint cleaned and treated, and a sanitary silicone tooled in properly — not a bead squeezed over the black line.
What we reseal
Anywhere two surfaces meet and move against each other needs silicone, not grout. These are the joints in a bathroom that fail, and the ones we rebuild. (We do not replace grout.)
The long joint along the top of the tub — the one that goes black first.
Vertical corners and the joint at the shower floor, where the water actually sits.
Where the base meets the tile floor and the mop goes every week.
The backsplash-to-wall joint and the sink rim.
The base joint and any escutcheon that lets water under the floor.
The glass-to-tile and glass-to-tray joints on a framed or frameless enclosure.
How we do it
A bathroom joint is a small job done properly or a small job done every year. We do it properly.
Every trace of the old silicone cut and scraped out. Nothing bonds to cured silicone — not even silicone.
The open joint and the grout beside it disinfected and mould-treated, then left to dry fully — on every shower, tub and backsplash.
Backer where the gap needs it, then DOWSIL Tub, Tile & Ceramic 100% silicone — made to resist mould — tooled to a clean concave line.
Twenty-four hours before water. We tell you exactly when it is ready.

Pricing
Count what you want done. An entire bathroom covers the tub or shower, the vanity and the toilet in one. Add them to your cart and we fit them into the same booking as the outside of the house — or book them on their own.
Doing the vanity or the toilet? The entire bathroom reseal — tub or shower, vanity and toilet, every joint in the room — is .
Every job carries a minimum charge — before HST, a little more when the job is several small items — and books with a deposit plus HST. Tub and shower reseals carry a 5-year warranty covering peeling and mould.
Straight answers
You can, and it will peel within the year. Nothing bonds to cured silicone — not even new silicone. The old bead has to come out completely, the joint has to be sanitized and dry, and only then does a new seal hold.
Sooner than you would think. The silicone we use is rated water-ready about 30 minutes after it goes on. We still recommend giving it 4 to 6 hours to cure properly to the touch before any bottles, caddies or shower-ware go back near the beads — and a good rule of thumb is the smell: once the vinegar note has gone, it is fully cured and fully shower-ready.
Because it is curing. DOWSIL Tub, Tile & Ceramic is an acetoxy silicone: as it cures it releases a little acetic acid — the same thing that gives vinegar its smell. It is normal, it is harmless, and it dissipates on its own once the silicone has fully cured. Run the fan, crack the window, and when the smell has gone the joint is ready.
Not through a properly made joint — and if it does, it is on us. Tub and shower reseals carry a 5-year warranty that covers peeling and mould. We disinfect the joint and the grout line next to it before we seal, and we use DOWSIL Tub, Tile & Ceramic 100% silicone, which is made to resist mould. Mould comes back when water gets behind the seal — which is what the old, failed bead was letting it do.
No — we do not replace grout. Caulk and grout are different materials for different joints: a moving joint (tub-to-tile, corner-to-corner, anything that meets the floor) gets silicone, and that is what we do. If your grout is failing in the field of the tile, that is a tiling job, and we will say so.
